Ross Miller has taken up the eco challenge this weekend on the Enville Stages. He decided ?? to keep his carbon footprint down by only doing one loop of each stage. He may have taken stage maximums but well done on saving the planet !!. Despite this the eco warrior has still maintained his lead in the SD34 Championship

There was success for many of the East Lancashire competitors who were out on the rally.Accrington’s Simon Boardman, in a Proton Gti, finished an excellent ninth overall with Ex .CofC Steve Coombes on the maps.Accrington’s Simon Boardman, in a Proton Gti, finished an excellent ninth overall with Ex .CofC Steve Coombes on the maps.
Fellow Proton pilot Terry Martin, current leader of the SD34 Championship, overcame a sticking caliper to claim 11th overall.
Martin, from Blackburn, and navigator Paul Taylor would have finished seventh if they had queried the two minutes of road penalties handed to them in error by the organisers.
But the pair left before the results were published and were unable to get the time loss scrubbed.
In the semi-experts class Paul Buckel and Steve Butler, from Accrington, finished fifth in class and 19th overall. Their run was dogged by clutch problems, caused by a leaking crankshaft oil seal on their Proton.
Chorley’s Paul Gray and Marcus Pomfret brought their Mini 1293 home in 29th place – enough to take the historic class win.
Two places behind them were Clitheroe DMC veterans Alan Douglas and Dave Barritt, with only 115 years of experiance between them, boiled the brakes on their Vauxhall Corsa Gsi on the first 30-mile section.
That left them with very little brakes at all for the second section, which made their win in the novice class all the more remarkable!
Fellow novices Paul Flynn and Andy Froude had more reason to celebrate than most at the finish, after collecting third place in the novice class on their first ever road rally.
“Thanks to everyone who entered and to all our volunteers, the equipment set-up crew, the small band of marshals who made sure we had a rally and finally the rest of organising team, especially those who stepped in at the last minute to help with results,” said clerk of the course Steve Kenyon.

The SD34 MSG/ANCC/EMAMC/ANEMMC championships got underway this weekend, with three East Lancashire crews in action on the lanes of Lincolnshire.
The Bruce Robinson Rally is the first of 10 rounds, and organisers Lincoln Motor Cycle and Car Club Ltd laid out a 155-mile route including 26 miles of whites, which varried from farm tracks to airfield stages, with a forty five car entry, and most of the top crews from the midlands and south of England out on this classic rally. Reigning champion Terry Martin, from Blackburn, and navigator Jerry Hettrick from Carlisle, are one of the favourites for victory in their Proton Satria.
Accrington’s Paul Buckel, winner of the semi-experts class last year, has a new car for 2010, swapping his Vauxhall Nova for a Proton Compact 1.5.
A partnership that started 30 years ago was reunited on Saturday night, when Alan Douglas teamed up with Clitheroe and district Motor Club president Dave Barritt. The pair are planning on contesting the full SD34 Championship in Alan's GpA Vauxhall Corsa.
